What To Expect

I will arrive for your consult with a bag of supplies that I use for demonstration and teaching.  Once we have introduced ourselves and you have made yourself comfortable, I will ask you pertinent questions related to your health history and birth.  Most importantly, I will listen to you!  I want to hear your thoughts about your feeding journey, your challenges, what’s working, what’s not, your birth/parenting story, your goals and your fears.

I will need to watch you feed your baby during our visit so that I can witness what an "average" feed looks like. This provides me with the opportunity to assess your baby, his latch and your anatomy (if indicated and consented to.)  We can then discuss the likely reasons for the problems you may be experiencing and come up with a plan that works for you and your family.  We will  have plenty of time to chat and you can ask any questions you might have at any time!

I will provide you with a digital document of our plan within 24 hours of our visit so that you can easily refresh your memory at your convenience.  I will include referrals to allied health practitioners if indicated and as well as a few online resources.  I will follow up with you via phone and text after our visit to touch base and provide you with ongoing support.  I want you to succeed and meet your feeding goals!
