About Me

Kylla Serben (she/her)

I am a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).  I have three gorgeous kids and am married to a fantastic partner!  My journey towards becoming a lactation consultant began after the birth of my first baby.  Feeding her wasn't easy and I wouldn't have been able to meet my goals if it wasn't for the support that I received along the way.  I sought out the help of a lactation consultant which profoundly impacted me and ultimately led me to pursue a career as an IBCLC.  I regularly attended La Leche League meetings where I found an amazing community and became an accredited La Leche League Leader.  I have enjoyed volunteering and supporting fellow parents through La Leche League for several years.   I have been assisting families with infant feeding since 2017 and it is truly where my heart lies.

Pregnancy, birth and parenting are all incredibly emotional journeys, full of unpredictability.  Most families are feeling overwhelmed and confused by the time they reach out for help.  I offer my clients empathy and a safe space to tell their story, along with both an evidence based and anecdotal approach to problem solving.  We work together to meet your needs and reach your goals!

I firmly believe that every family is unique.  Each client is deserving of an individualized approach and tailored care plan to help meet their feeding goals.  I help families navigate their feeding journey by meeting them where they are at, both figuratively and literally.  I provide in home consultations to those in Sherwood Park and surrounding areas.  I offer a nonbiased, judgment free space to accommodate your feeding preferences.  It is a privilege to be invited into your home and to witness the intimate relationships between you, your baby and your family.  I am grateful to be welcomed into your home.

I am a settler who lives and works on Treaty 6 territory and I recognize that I benefit greatly from colonialism.  Treaty 6 territory is a traditional meeting ground, gathering place and travelling route for the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Metis, Dene and Nakota Sioux.

I respectfully acknowledge the many First Nations, Metis and Inuit caretakers and knowledge keepers whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.  I am a guest in their lands.

Families are not defined by gender, sexual orientation, race, culture or religion.

Every family deserves support.
